GGS 106 The Oscars 2015

Susan & Kelly are joined by film & TV editor Erik C. Andersen to discuss the Oscars & Independent Spirit Awards.

Since Susan always gets confused about the difference between sound editing & sound mixing, both Erik & Kelly explain it. Kelly also found this blog post http://blog.dolby.com/2014/02/sound-mixing-sound-editing-whats-difference/

GGS 105 Better Call Varys

Game of Thrones correspondent Pat joins Susan & Kelly to discuss the Game of Thrones behind the scenes special and the two minute trailer for Season 5.
Susan & Pat have read all of George RR Martin's Song of Ice & Fire books. Kelly has read through most of A Storm of Swords. We discuss the behind the scenes special first until 10:30 then continue with a detailed discussion of the Season 5 trailer and some general book v show/movie discussion at 41:00 starting with Harry Potter and continuing to The Walking Dead until the super spoilery book section starts at 53:30 to the end.
SPOILER ALERT 2: We talk about material from the book that has not appeared in the show starting at 53:30

GGS 103 Black Mirror

Susan & Kelly welcome David McRaney from the You Are Not So Smart podcast to discuss Charlie Brooker's show Black Mirror which recently became available on Netflix. We started there and worked our way through some of the psychological themes of the episodes. Our intent was to keep it non-spoilery for a while, but it was a very short while. If you haven't seen Black Mirror, heed our warning, go watch it, then continue listening to the podcast.

Here is the linkto the series of articles David talked about  http://grantland.com/?s=black+mirror

Enjoy.
Thank you for listening.
